The Hurricane

By Ben W. Blue ~ 2008-05-01

  1. The hurricane was coming here
  2. Headed my way, unavoidable
  3. About to overturn millions
  4. For years, forever, land and lives
  5.
  6. My friend felt guilty, sad and scared
  7. For he was enjoying loved ones visiting
  8. How could he feel so good, he said,
  9. When others would be hurt or lost?
  10.
  11. Don't feel guilty for living and loving
  12. For enjoying what's so good
  13. I want you to be happy with them
  14. Don't stop while I'm gone a little while
  15.
  16. Yes, others go through bad times
  17. While some go through good times
  18. It's just living, my friend
  19. We all do it, loving life is no sin
  20.
  21. Don't be scared for me or others
  22. If I cannot return, it is alright
  23. I have had as good a life as I could
  24. I will still love you just as much
  25.
  26. I will see you again as soon as I can
  27. In a little while, you'll wake
  28. We'll be together again, only better
  29. Our times will be precious and complete
  30.
  31. On that day, my friend, have no fear
  32. For I will cry with joy for you
  33. For my friend will return, no longer lost
  34. And we will embrace for sure
  35.
  36. Now I tell you this, the lesson is clear
  37. Life changes hugely in an instant
  38. And we wonder how to take it, how to go on
  39. The answer's oh so simple
  40.
  41. Embrace again the lost returned
  42. Cry and laugh and love, rebuild and build anew
  43. Clean and heal what is broken in each other
  44. Embrace family and friends, bring in old and new
  45.
  46. Don't wait too long, dear friend
  47. One day your wait will be over
  48. We'll let the good times roll again
  49. Life will all start over
  50.
  51. Though rain and wind take all away
  52. Though love and friends seem so unreachable
  53. Someday, my friend, with the sun's warmth
  54. We begin again
  55.
  56. The flooding rain downpoured
  57. The wind howled and roared
  58. The storm passed away
  59. I was still here
  60.
  61. Hello, my friend
  62. I thought of you
  63. You missed me
  64. We got through it
