  1. What's that, you say?
  2. Scars?
  3. Outside? Scary?
  4. Inside? Scarier?
  5. Unhealed? Imperfect?
  6. Unwanted? Separated?
  7. Lesser? Limited?
  8. You Can't? I Can't?
  9. Well, OK. So what?
  10.  
  11. Maybe you haven't noticed,
  12. My flaws are there;
  13. Hidden or on display,
  14. Physical or not.
  15.  
  16. Nevermind! Who Cares!
  17. Who Cares? I Care!
  18. But not about the scars, damnit!
  19. They're leftovers, not eternal.
  20.  
  21. I love you, scars and all.
  22. We'll live with 'em.
  23. They show we've survived and overcome.
  24. We're stronger for it.
  25.  
  26. If we knew how, we'd heal each other,
  27. So they'd be gone without a trace.
  28. Let's do the best we can together,
  29. So we heal sooner, all we can.

  31. Some day, they'll be all smooth,
  32. No more to trouble us.
  33. Dear one, can't you tell?
  34. Yours don't bother me, mine do.

  36. Dear friend, family, partner,
  37. Loved one, don't despair!
  38. Let me soothe what hurts you,
  39. While you soothe what hurts me.

  42. They don't matter to us.
  43. We'll get past whatever it is
  44. To find the ways that work.

  46. When you need to, be independent.
  47. When you need to, lean together.
  48. When you need to, carry each other.
  49. What one of us can't, the other can.

  51. Your soul is beautiful, not ugly.
  52. The rest is just scratch and dent.
