IT
By Blue / Ben W. ~ 2006-01-03
- Lately, you’re troubled
- By some IT you won’t quite express.
- IT’s a chilling shadow
- To your sunny warmth.
- Your smile is all uncertain, forced.
- You’re quiet, too quietly disquieted,
- Where once we talked
- About anything for hours,
- Or sat still, content.
- I’m concerned,
- I want to help.
- Let me in!
- Talk to me!
- Tell me what IT is.
- What burdens you so that you’d hide,
- Yourself and IT, from me, from everyone?
- Are you afraid I’d leave you, curse you,
- When already you are too alone and hurt?
- No. I will not. I cannot. You are special.
- You are mine. I am yours.
- Friend and loved one, here’s my embrace.
- Maybe I have been too narrow, not open enough.
- Have I omitted or committed something
- I should have done differently?
- Is IT why you won’t talk?
- Are you afraid you’d hurt me, run me off,
- With IT revealed?
- Alright, so I’m imperfect, flawed.
- I might have trouble with IT,
- But you matter more than IT.
- You need me
- To understand
- You and IT and me.
- I need you
- To understand
- You and IT and me.
