Candlelight
By Ben W. Blue

- Hold on. Hold fast.
- Your time is not yet past.
- Though all around,
- The gloom grows round,
- Inside you is a light.
-
- Though it seems too dim,
- It is not burnt out;
- It is a glowing spark.
- Your candle, it isn't so broken.
- Each piece shares light renewed.
-
- Let it wax strong in
- Gentle warmth together
- Among family and friends
- Glowing in hearts unimagined, unmet.
- Giving life where none was yet.
-
- Some time yet unknown,
- Your light is needed
- To shine to guide someone
- You don't know yet.
- Don't hide your light inside.
-
- That day, you'll see it clearly,
- Your life has new meaning
- Beyond lonesome understanding.
- You'll find you have friends and loves
- Awaiting the light only you can give.
-
- Lead the way through it,
- Trust your inner light,
- Out of the darkest surroundings.
- Or how will others know?
- There is a friendly path aglow.
